The
De Dietrich Private Professional High School is heir to a long company school
tradition. Although the Company had been training apprentices in various factories since
before 1870, the school was established at a production site at the start of the 20th
century. In 1867, the Paris Universal Exhibition awarded De Dietrich a "Grand
Prix" for the considerable efforts it had made to further both social harmony and the
general well-being of the community. Apprentice training was certainly one of the factors
that led to the awarding of the prize.
Today, the school continues to
distinguish itself by bringing its 60 students into daily contact with the life and
activities of the Group. Two main courses of study are available leading either to a
National Diploma in Metallic Structures or a National Diploma in Mechanical Production
Techniques. With a record pass rate of near to 100%, graduates have no trouble at all in
finding suitable employment.
Since 2006, the De Dietrich Professional School is taken over by the
Training Center for Apprentices of Industry
(CFAI, Alsace),
which is part of the network of the professional association of the French
Metal and Electrical Industry (UIMM).
